Prior to joining DCM, Joseph Huang was with UMC Capital for seven years where he led their China investment. He focused on making investments in the Technology, Media and Telecommunications (TMT) sector.

Joseph served as a semiconductor research analyst at Yuanta Securities, the leading Taiwan-based equity brokerage firm. At Yuanta, Joseph published research reports on TSMC, UMC, Vanguard and the Taiwan analog IC sector.

Prior to Yuanta Securities, Joseph was with United Investments and Pacific Ventures based in San Jose, California, collectively for five years. With investment focus on semiconductor design and optical communication projects, he worked on Luminous Networks, LynuxWorks, Pine Photonics (acquired by Hitachi Opnext), Corrent Corporation and Pictos (acquired by ESS Technology).

Previously, he was a corporate banker at Citibank, Taiwan, where he covered technology sector clients including Acer Group, Asustek, D-Link and Accton.
